The beaches of one are still just as Columbus discovered them, while the primary forest of the other flourishes in complete serenity. To the south of the Antilles, the Grenadines archipelago is strewn with islands untouched by population or construction. In the heart of the Indian Ocean, the Seychelles jealously protect an exuberant natural environment and some of the richest endemic fauna in the world. Haute-Corse, meanwhile, has preserved its wild and majestic Piana creeks, and the untouched Agriates scrubland.

The Tobago Cays coral reef in the Grenadines, one of the most remarkable in the West Indies, is easily accessible by snorkeling (fins, masks and snorkels provided on board). Horseshoe Reef, a coral reef in the shape of a horseshoe, is a favorite meeting place for green turtles. In fact, if you love turtles, head to the Seychelles to see the archipelago's hundred-year-old giants grazing peacefully on the island of La Digue.
In Barbuda, the immense mangrove swamps are home to the world's second-largest colony of superb frigatebirds, after the Galapagos. Do you have a passion for birds? The cliffs of the Calanques de Piana are a natural refuge for ospreys, golden eagles and peregrine falcons.
The best chance of spotting sperm whales is on Dominica: an exceptional phenomenon, with 200 members making their home here year-round.
