Some useful information and advice to help you prepare for your vacation aboard a catamaran

Catlante Catamarans cruises take place in warm climates. There's no need to pack a lot of clothes, but it's a good idea to bring a windproof jacket, a hat and comfortable shoes that won't get wet or slip.

Our cruises take place on safe maritime routes. We do not offer cruises in areas advised against by the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Political events can affect tourist centers with high population concentrations, so boats at sea are much safer.

Seasickness
For those prone to seasickness, it usually passes within 24 to 48 hours. To prevent seasickness, over-the-counter tablets are very effective, as is lavender or peppermint essential oil.

Dengue and chikungunya
Boats are regularly disinsected. The risks of chikungunya and dengue fever are present in the West Indies and Southeast Asia. But mosquitoes are very sensitive to wind, which makes boats safer places to be. Take repellent products with you when ashore.

If there is a risk of hurricanes, we do not allow boats to sail in the areas concerned (e.g. the Virgin Islands in summer). The Grenadines only experience a cyclone every 15/20 years, and there are plenty of shelters, so we can sail all year round.

  • Check the validity dates of your identity documents, and for nationals of "non-Shenguen" countries, the consular requirements of the country in which you are traveling.
  • Check that your bank cards work internationally.
  • Check with your operator that your cell phone works in the cruising area.
  • Take along your insurance details and Carte Vitale.
  • Check your plane tickets and other means of transport.
  • If you need medical treatment, make sure you have enough medication for the duration of your stay. Be sure to bring your prescription, written according to international nomenclature, i.e. with the names of the molecules and not the trade names of the drugs (e.g. paracetamol and not Doliprane). Check for any compulsory vaccinations.
  • Photo and/or video equipment: bring a waterproof bag.
