Crewed catamaran charter: the pleasure of sailing, the freedom to enjoy

Chartering a crewed catamaran means spending your holiday at sea without having to worry about sailing or day-to-day organisation. Your captain knows the most beautiful stopovers, your chef takes care of the meals, and you make the most of your cruise, with family or friends.

At CATLANTE, for almost 25 years we have cultivated a certain idea of hospitality at sea, built on conviviality, generosity and authenticity. Our crews love welcoming guests, sharing their knowledge of the islands and making sure everyone feels at home on board.

And because you privatise the catamaran, you share this experience only with the people you have chosen. Some will prefer to start the day with a swim, others will linger over breakfast on the flybridge. You meet up for lunch, set off to explore an island, enjoy one last swim before drinks… Everyone lives their holiday at their own pace, with the pleasure of getting together whenever they wish.

What does a CATLANTE catamaran charter include?

Privatising a CATLANTE catamaran means setting off with family or friends on a boat all to yourselves, with a crew that takes care of everything and the pleasure of enjoying every day without having to organise life on board.

Your cruise includes:

  • A fully privatised catamaran, with generous living spaces: a vast flybridge, indoor and outdoor lounges, dining areas, large swimming platforms and a fitted foredeck to enjoy the sea.
  • A dedicated professional crew, made up of a captain and a chef. On the Prestige range catamarans, a third crew member also provides hotel service.
  • Comfortable cabins with private bathroom, prepared before your arrival: beds made, bath linen, beach towels and toiletries provided.
  • All meals and drinks included, according to the selection for your range, with no extra charge for consumption on board.
  • Fuel and the water sports equipment available on your catamaran, so you can make the most of the sailing and the stopovers.
  • An itinerary designed for your destination, alternating anchorages, swimming, island discovery and shore visits, with the option of adapting the programme together with your captain.

Destination fees are invoiced separately, according to the number of passengers actually on board.

Which catamaran should you choose for your group?

With family, with friends or to celebrate a special occasion, the choice of your catamaran depends on the number of passengers, the make-up of your group and the level of comfort you want.

CATLANTE catamarans are designed for life on board: vast flybridges, large swimming platforms on the stern steps and a foredeck platform without nets for extra living space. The shared spaces count as much as the cabins.

Cabins suited to the make-up of your group

Depending on the vessel, you have double cabins, twin cabins with two separate beds (convertible into a double bed, except on the CATLANTE 620), and triple cabins with a large bed and an extra berth.

On certain catamarans and itineraries, up to 14 passengers can come aboard: South Corsica, Upper Corsica, Corsican Riviera, Provence, Seychelles and Turquoise St-Barth, only if the route does not go via Anguilla. The exact capacity must be confirmed according to the vessel and the itinerary.

Three ranges, three ways to enjoy your cruise

Comfort — CATLANTE 600: with five or six passenger cabins accommodating 10 to 14 people depending on the configuration and destination, the CATLANTE 600 puts the emphasis on conviviality and the pleasure of being together.

Elegance — CATLANTE 620 and CATLANTE 720: six air-conditioned passenger cabins, more space and more comfort.

Prestige — CATLANTE NEO: six cabins and three crew members, including one person providing hotel service, daily cabin housekeeping and a change of sheets and towels mid-cruise.

Where to charter a crewed catamaran?

From the Mediterranean to the Caribbean and on to the islands of the Indian Ocean, CATLANTE offers itineraries designed to discover the islands from the sea.

In the Mediterranean: Corsica, Sardinia, Provence, Tuscany and the Balearic Islands

Corsica and Sardinia charm visitors with their beaches, coves and wild coastlines. In Corsica, the Lavezzi Islands, Porto-Vecchio and Roccapina are all names that make you want to set sail. The stopovers offered in Sardinia depend on the current itineraries.

In Provence, from the Frioul Islands to Porquerolles and Port-Cros, you discover villages and natural areas from the sea. In Tuscany, Capraia and the island of Elba offer another side of the Mediterranean. In the Balearic Islands, Majorca and Minorca alternate coves, beaches and Mediterranean harbours.

In the Caribbean: the Grenadines and the West Indies

The Grenadines are discovered island by island, from Bequia to the Tobago Cays and Mayreau. Between Martinique, Dominica and Guadeloupe, the stopovers combine volcanic landscapes, forests and the villages of Les Saintes. Departing from Saint-Martin, other cruises reach Saint-Barthélemy and Antigua depending on the programme.

In the Seychelles: all year round

The cruise links the islands without endless hotel changes: Mahé, Praslin, La Digue and their neighbours are discovered at the boat’s pace.

How much does a CATLANTE catamaran charter cost?

The price depends on the boat, the destination, the length of the cruise and the departure date. At CATLANTE, the price covers the privatisation of the catamaran with crew, meals, drinks and fuel, not a simple bareboat rental.

Indicative average privatisation prices, excluding destination fees. Prices vary according to the date, the vessel and the destination.

Illustrative example: privatisation of a CATLANTE 600 for 10 passengers on board at €16,500, plus 10 destination fees at €230 = €18,800 in total, i.e. €1,880 per person. Example valid only if this boat price is offered for the chosen departure; to be confirmed in the quote.

Destination fees are invoiced according to the number of passengers actually on board, not the capacity of the vessel. They are paid with the balance of the cruise and are fully refundable if the client cancels. They cover in particular clearance and customs formalities, organised and paid for by CATLANTE. Once the cruise and fees are paid, there is nothing to buy on board.

Skippered charter or private cruise: what are the differences?

Chartering a catamaran with a skipper and privatising a CATLANTE cruise may seem like two similar ways of going to sea. In both cases, a professional handles the sailing and the boat is reserved for your group. But the services, the organisation and the contractual responsibilities are not necessarily the same.

In a classic skippered charter, you generally rent a boat together with the services of a sailing professional. Depending on the contract, meals, provisioning, fuel, formalities and other costs may remain your responsibility.

At CATLANTE, you privatise an organised cruise, with a professional crew under CATLANTE’s responsibility, and meals, drinks and fuel included. No security deposit is required from passengers. The organisation and management of the crew are handled by CATLANTE.

Your questions about crewed catamaran charters

No, CATLANTE catamarans are offered exclusively with a professional crew. Depending on the range chosen, it includes a captain and a chef, plus a third crew member on the Prestige catamarans to provide hotel service. You thus enjoy a fully organised cruise, without having to deal with sailing, meals or the daily upkeep of the boat.

No, CATLANTE does not ask for a security deposit to privatise its catamarans. Unlike a classic boat rental, you do not take charge of the boat: sailing and operating it remain the responsibility of CATLANTE’s professional crew. You are booking a crewed cruise, not a boat rental that you manage yourself.

Of course! You can privatise a CATLANTE catamaran even if your group does not fill all the cabins. The boat and its crew are reserved entirely for you, whether you travel as 6, 8 or more passengers. The privatisation price depends on the catamaran, the destination and the dates chosen. Destination fees, on the other hand, are charged only for the people actually on board.

Yes, some CATLANTE catamarans can accommodate up to 14 passengers, depending on their configuration and the itinerary. This option is available in particular for cruises in Corsica, Provence and the Seychelles, as well as on certain routes in the Caribbean. It is not, however, offered across the whole fleet or in every destination. Our advisers will direct you to the boat that suits the make-up of your group.

CATLANTE catamarans offer different configurations to accommodate couples as well as families or groups of friends. Depending on the model, you will find double cabins, twin cabins with two separate beds and triple cabins with a large bed and an extra berth suitable for a child or a small adult. On some models the twin cabins can be converted into doubles, except on the CATLANTE 620. All passenger cabins have a private bathroom.

No, the services provided on board are included in the price of your CATLANTE cruise: crew, meals, drinks according to the selection for your range, fuel and the water sports equipment available on the boat. There is no bill to settle on board for included consumption. Destination fees, which cover in particular local taxes and formalities related to stopovers, are invoiced separately and paid before departure. Personal expenses ashore remain your responsibility.

Yes, privatisation lets you adapt the programme to your wishes, within the framework of the proposed itinerary. Would you like to spend more time on a beach, discover a village or favour quiet anchorages? You can discuss it with your captain. Adjustments naturally remain subject to weather conditions, sailing distances, local regulations and operational requirements.

To get the best choice of catamarans and dates, we advise you to book early, ideally several months in advance. Many of our clients book their cruise almost a year before departure, especially for school holidays. An “Early booking” discount may also apply, subject to the terms of the offer. A privatisation is sometimes still possible a few weeks, or even a few days, before departure if a catamaran is still entirely available and the organisation allows it.
