What is a catamaran cruise in the West Indies with CATLANTE?

A catamaran cruise in the West Indies means discovering the Caribbean archipelago from the sea, where the hotels do not go. Uninhabited islets, turquoise lagoons, secret anchorages reached by boat and nowhere else. With CATLANTE, a professional skipper handles all the sailing: no licence and no experience needed, you step aboard and enjoy.

For more than 25 years, our skippers have known the Caribbean by heart. They know where to drop anchor sheltered from the trade winds, at what time an anchorage empties of its boats, and which stopovers turn a week into an unforgettable memory. Whether with family, with friends or as a couple, it is the finest way to experience the West Indies simply and without stress.

Cabin cruise or private charter: two ways to sail

In the West Indies, CATLANTE offers two options. With a cabin cruise, you book one or more private cabins on a catamaran shared with other travellers: ideal for travelling solo, as a couple or in a small group, in a friendly atmosphere. With a private charter, you hire the whole catamaran for your group alone, with a crew dedicated exclusively to you.

In both cases, everything is included: a professional skipper (a qualified captain), a cook, all meals, drinks, linen and cleaning. You have nothing to take care of. The only difference is the degree of privacy: with a cabin cruise you share the adventure; with a private charter, the boat is yours alone.

When is the best time for a cruise in the West Indies?

The CATLANTE season in the West Indies runs from November to April, during the dry season. This is the most settled period, away from the rainy season (May to October) and the hurricane season (July to September). November to March is also the best time to watch sperm whales around Dominica, when the females give birth.

Our skippers' advice: choose December to March for a calm sea, clear skies and steady trade winds, perfect for sailing peacefully between the islands.

Why choose CATLANTE to sail in the West Indies?

CATLANTE offers a different approach to cruising. Everything is designed to make life simple: a large, comfortable catamaran (Catlante 600, 620 or Lagoon 450), a professional skipper and cook, an all-inclusive service and an itinerary adapted to the weather and to your wishes. You step aboard without stress, without a licence, with no logistics to handle and without the slightest technical constraint.

That is the CATLANTE difference: you are not simply chartering a boat, you are living a real cruise in the West Indies. A premium setting, an attentive French-speaking crew, and the freedom to change anchorage every day, according to the wind and your wishes.
